Profile.
James F. Groves is an Indiana Trial Lawyer with approximately 50 years of trial experience. He has tried jury cases involving copyright, medical malpractice, plaintiff’s personal injury, insurance defense, contract cases, and product liability cases. Mr. Groves has had cases across Northern Indiana, as well as all Federal Courts throughout the State of Indiana. He has tried to verdict more than 200 jury cases, plus numerous bench trials and administrative hearings.
In addition to Mr. Groves’ trial practice, he has handled appellate cases before the Indiana Court of Appeals and Indiana Supreme Court, as well as the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. Mr. Groves has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in his practice.

Mr. Groves has been called upon to provide mediation services in various cases and is available for mediation.

Mr. Groves is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers which is an organization by invitation only; is an advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates, which is by invitation only; and has an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Groves is a past board member of the South Bend Symphony, a past board member of the Fichoff Music Association, past president of the St. Joseph County Notre Dame Alumni Association, past board member of the St. Joseph Scholarship Foundation, past president of the St. Joseph County Bar Association, and member of the Robert A. Grant Inn of Court.
